On Longevity with DA Orchard MedSuites

4 OCT 2026

The afternoon's guiding principle, set from the very first slide: longevity is not passive, it starts with knowing where you stand.

A bonsai does not grow well on its own. It requires constant attention, shaping, and care over the years. That’s what taking care of our health looks like. More than sporadic check-ups with the GP or occasional health-conscious meals after a holiday, your health is something you keep tending to, season after season.
The bonsai metaphor was introduced to a select, invite-only session on the pursuit of longevity, hosted at DA Medsuites at COMO Orchard earlier this month. Comoclubbers in attendance learned about the mechanics of longevity, such as the difference between lifespan – quantity of years lived – versus healthspan – the quality of those years – and notably, how to make the curve of ageing a gentler one, so that you enjoy more healthy, mobile, and energetic years of life.

Dr Andrew Fang of DA Medsuites walked guests through the science of ageing.

One of the ways shared at the session, according to Dr. Andrew Fang (Medical Director at DA Medsuites), is measuring one’s health regularly and early on, before signs of ageing are even detected. “Knowing your baseline is not the finish line, it’s only the start of a clearer and more informed relationship with your own health,” Dr. Fang shared with attendees. “You may not be able to tell when your health is declining as the signs of ageing can be invisible, unless it is measured.”
Choosing the right health screening that meets your physical needs and takes into account personal risk factors is also important. Among the options offered by DA Medsuites, Dr Fang highlighted the newly-launched Bonsai screening package, which adopts a comprehensive data-driven approach to health, performance, and longevity that is tailored to the individual.

The VO2 Max test, one of the most telling indicators of cardiovascular fitness and longevity, in action at DA Medsuites.

Comprising seven key markers of how the body is maturing, the screening assesses how “well” one is ageing. The tests include performance analysis of brain health, VO2 max, pulse wave velocity (measuring the stiffness of arteries), kidney and liver function, and advanced biological markers, which look at a person’s biochemistry on the cellular level.
“We recommend our clients have their health check-ups every 6 to 12 months,” Dr. Fang advised. “Each check-up at DA Medsuites starts with a questionnaire to understand your health goals, and comes with a personalised longevity report, which a doctor will go through with you in detail to design a lifestyle plan for you.”

Shinji Yamanouchi, Founder & CEO of WELL Medical Group and 5 Star Medical Club, sharing his perspective on the future of preventive healthcare.

Longevity can look and feel good at the same time. Guests were treated to a tour of DA Medsuites facilities post-talk, viewing the clinic’s private pods, VIP suite, and state-of-the-art examination rooms. As the Bonsai screening is designed in partnership with COMO Shambhala, those who take up the screening also enjoy advanced recovery therapies like contrast therapy, hyperbaric oxygen chamber, and nutritional consultations offered at the wellness establishment, located just one floor below DA Medsuites. “The Bonsai screening doesn’t just check if you’re healthy or not,” Dr. Fang commented during his section of the session, “But goes one step further to ask: how can you make ageing better?”

The private VIP suites at DA Medsuites offer a calm, considered space to arrive, settle in, and prepare for the experience ahead.

Guests were treated to a thoughtful spread by COMO Cuisine, from truffle mushroom arancini to freshly made mini sliders.

Comoclubbers and guests in attendance, deep in conversation about the science of regenerative medicine and what it means for how we age.

The afternoon was capped off with a selection of refreshments prepared by COMO Cuisine, where guests ate, mingled, and took the opportunity to speak with Mr. Yamanouchi and consultants from DA Medsuites. Attendees left with a renewed understanding of ageing with longevity in mind: knowing that it is not simply a roll of the genetic dice, but composed of daily lifestyle choices — almost like pruning a Bonsai tree, carefully considered, carefully cultivated.
